Rob Eastman-Mullins* – Scenic Commission

Rob Eastman-Mullins*

Rob Eastman-Mullins is a freelance scenographer and an Associate Professor of Design & Production at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Designing scenery, lighting, and costumes, his work has been seen at Syracuse Opera, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre, New Theatre (Miami), Triad Stage, Festival Stage, NC Shakespeare Festival, Hapgood Theatre, and exhibited at the Prague Quadrennial and World Stage Design. Rob also serves as Chair of OISTAT’s Performance Design Commission.


Adam Mendelson* – Lighting Commission

Adam Mendelson* – Lighting Commission

Adam Mendelson is the Senior Lecturer in Lighting and Sound Design at the University of Maryland Baltimore County where he has been on the faculty since 2012 and helped prepare the new theatre spaces for the opening of the state-of-the-art Performing Arts and Humanities Building. He previously taught at the University of Wyoming, the University of Texas-Arlington, Stephens College (Columbia, MO), and Lawrence Academy (Groton, MA). His design work has been seen across the US and as far afield as Scotland. Recently, he has lit shows for Perisphere Theatre (Silver Spring, MD) Rep Stage (Columbia, MD) Lexington Children’s Theatre (Lexington, KY), Classic Theatre of Maryland (Annapolis, MD), and the Towson University Department of Dance. He is a 20 year member of USITT and currently serves as the Vice-Commissioner of International Activities for the Lighting Commission and is the Lighting Delegate to OISTAT.  He lives in Catonsville MD with his wife, Catherine, and their menagerie, Lailah and Kona.


Joe Pino* – Sound Commission

Joe Pino* – Sound Commission

Joe Pino has been designing sound for theater since 1981. He has curated numerous international sound design exhibits and performances at the Prague Quadrennial and World Stage Design. Joe was the chair of the OISTAT Sound Design sub-commission from 2013-2021. He is a member of Theater Sound Designers and Composers Association, the Association of Sound Designers, and is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University.


Sabrina Notarfrancisco*

Sabrina Notarfrancisco* – Costume Commission

Sabrina Notarfrancisco, a native of Berlin, is a costume designer and Associate Professor at Connecticut College where she recently received the John S. King Memorial Excellence in Teaching Award. An active member of the OISTAT Costume Sub-commission, Sabrina has presented work at symposia around the world and has written several articles for TD&T chronicling the costume-related events at PQ and WSD. She is currently serving as the Associate Jury Director for WSD 2022 in Calgary.

William Kenyon* – Education Commission

William Kenyon* – Education Commission

William Kenyon serves as Head of Lighting Design at Penn State, and designs internationally for theatre, opera, dance, & Film/TV, with a  special focus on Native American dance.  William is the Chair of OISTAT’s Education Commission and USITT’s History & Heritage Committee, the Curator of the Penn State Theatre Lighting Archive, and Advisor to the USITT@PSU Student Chapter.  William is the author of Theatre & Stage Photography, addressing the challenges of photography for live performance.

Richard Bryant*

Richard Bryant* – Publication and Communication

Richard Bryant serves as the USITT representative to OISTAT’s Publishing and Communication Commission. He has also been an active participant with USITT’s Publication Committee, Heritage and History Committee (Ad Hoc) and the International Activities Committee. Richard is the founder of ARCHIVING TECHNICAL THEATER HISTORY on Facebook and an advisor / participant with the CANON of TECHNICAL THEATRE HISTORY, a project dedicated to increase awareness and understanding of the history of technical theatre in Europe: its practices and technologies.

He is a graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (BFA, Theatre), Roosevelt University (MA, Drama) and the University of Idaho (MFA, Theatre)
